BGI Labs a new Planetary Collaboration

Dr. Ben Goertzel Dr. Ben Goertzel

A new company founded by Dr. Ben Goertzel; BGI Labs is an open decentralised initiative focused on developing and governing Beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

What BGI Labs Will Do:

  • Decentralize AGI Development: Build AGI through open and transparent frameworks rather than letting it remain restricted inside a small group of major corporations.
  • Combine Science and Governance: Use rigorous science and transparent governance to guide how AGI is built and managed.
  • Support Global Communities: Involve diverse worldwide communities to ensure future AGI systems reflect broad human values and social good.

An AGI project founded on core open source cognitive code and a flourishing global community can do what no closed commercial lab can: offer long-term transparency, verifiability, and a genuine basis for planetary collaboration.

MindChildren Building Robots to connect people

Kris Kudla Kris Kudla

A small but mighty team based in Seattle, Washington.

An early-stage startup with an experienced team, addressing the need for affordable and repairable social robots. Mind Children, believes robots can support people in everyday life, not just in factories.

Most robotics companies build robots that work in factories, doing repetitive manual labor. In 2023, co-founders Dr. Ben Goertzel and Chris Kudla started Mind Children to build a different kind of robot. Aiming to build highly scalable, mass-producible humanoid robots for the environments where human connection matters most: education, healthcare, and hospitality.
